The Wife of Bauchi State Governor and First Lady of the State Hajiya A’isha Bala Mohammed has pledged continued support to initiatives that empower young girls through education and skills development.
She made the pledge at a Cultural and Art exhibition organised by Government Girls College, GGC Bauchi, for the students to display their entrepreneurial skills, products and artistic talents in Bauchi.
It was a day of colour, culture, and creativity as the students displayed their entrepreneurial products and artistic talents for officials and other education stakeholders.
Hajiya A’isha Bala Mohammed, who applauded the students for making good use of the opportunities provided through entrepreneurship education, encouraged them to remain focused on their studies, while also honouring their vocational skills.
While pledging continued support for initiatives that empower young girls through education and skills development, the Wife of the Governor maintained that skills are important but education remains the foundation for lasting success.
Earlier, the Principal of GGC Bauchi, Hajiya Hadiza Sagir Ibrahim, described the event as more than just an exhibition but a celebration of talent, innovation, and hard work.
Hajiya Hadiza Ibrahim said such events are proof of what the younger generations especially youth can achieve when given the right guidance and encouragement.
In their seperate remarks, the State Commissioner of Education, Dr Lawal Mohammed, and the Chairman State Assembly Committee on Education, Dr. Nasiru Ahmed Ala, emphasized the importance of integrating entrepreneurship skills into the school curriculum.
They commended the organisers of the event for the effort, describing it as a step toward empowering students beyond the classroom.
The event which featured live cultural performances, drama presentation, and display of student-made products left many inspired by the creativity and potential of the young girls.
