The North-East Zone of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) has held its first Committee of Management Meeting under the leadership of the Acting Zonal Director, Mallam Dahiru Garba, at the Zonal Headquarters in Bauchi.

The meeting brought together General Managers and Heads of Departments from across the zone to review progress, tackle challenges, and chart new directions for the corporation.

Nasiru Ibrahim served as Secretary of the meeting.

In his remarks, the Acting Zonal Director, Mallam Dahiru Garba, called for greater discipline, punctuality, and teamwork. He encouraged stronger cooperation between the Content and Marketing Departments, noting that both play a central role in revenue generation and audience growth.

The meeting discussed several key issues, including staff training and retraining, expanding the zone’s online presence and digital content creation as a source of revenue, and building stronger collaboration with stakeholders.

Mallam Dahiru Garba assured staff that unpaid allowances will soon be settled. He also disclosed that six stations in the zone will benefit from solar power installations, which will finally ease the challenge of unstable electricity supply.

On security, he urged all General Managers to strengthen measures to protect FRCN’s assets in their stations.

The Committee of Management agreed to meet three times each year, with the next meeting scheduled for Gift FM Jalingo.
