Bauchi State Police Command says it has arrested over 748 suspects linked to various criminal activities within the last five months.
The State Police Commissioner Sani-Omolori Aliyu made this known during a press briefing held at the command’s headquarters in Bauchi.
Sani-Omolori who said that the suspects arrested in five months were not only from Bauchi but outside the State, explained that since his assumption as the 46th Commissioner of Police the command has remained steadfast in addressing crime and criminality within the state.
He outlines some of the achievements recorded to include of arrest of one hundred thirteen suspects armed robbery suspects, apprehending of one hundred seventy-one suspects for Culpable Homicide, arrest of sixteen suspects for Grievous Hurt,
Others are arrest of seventy-two suspects for Rape and Indecent Assault, apprehension of seven suspects for Kidnapping, arrest of thirty-seven suspects for alleged theft and other forms of stealing among others.
The Commissioner of Police further disclosed the arrest of a gang of four for unlawfully entering the residence of 35 year old Abdulkadir Garba at DP 21 behind Federal Secretariat and robbed him of money and valuables worth 7.5 million naira.
He said the suspects to include Isma’il Garba, Muhammed Adamu, Khalifa Dauda, and Bisalla Adamu coerced him into transferring the sum of three million three hundred thousand naira into their Moniepoint bank account.
