The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA Bauchi branch, has elected new executives to oversee the affairs of the association for the next two years.
Rabiu Garba emerged Chairman after defeating his closest contender, Sama’ila Idris Salman, with 154 votes, while Garba Haruna was elected Vice Chairman.Other Executives elected include Abubakar Sadiq Idris returned as Secretary;Abdulkadir Garba as Assistant Secretary; Anas Zubair Aliyu, Treasurer; Usamat Kabir Adam,Publicity Secretary.Others are Naziru Umar won the Financial Secretary position; Asabe Sarauta Yusuf clinched Welfare Secretary; Catherine Yila Kwaltings elected as provost; while Muhammad Mukhtar Ibrahim returned as Social Secretary; amongst others.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Comrade Abdulmumini Adamu who described the exercise as free and fair applauded the NBA members for their orderly conduct and exhibiting high sense of maturity throughout the voting process.
The newly elected Chairman Rabiu Garba, after receiving his Certificate of Return, expressed appreciation and pledged to deploy his legal experience for the association’s progress.
Bashir Khalid Furyam reports the election has in attendance critical stakeholders like the Independent Electoral Commission, (INEC), Human Right commission as well as Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) among others.
In an interview with Radio Nigeria members of the NBA who turn out enmass for the election described it as one of the most credible elections in the history of the Association.
