The Bauchi State Head of Service has warned members of the public to be warry of a suspected syndicate extorting money in the name of securing employment into the State Public Service.

A statement issued by Mohammed Bello Ahmed on behalf of the Head of Civil Service, says the unscrupulous elements are using the recruitment process initiated by the state government early this year to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

According to the statement, candidates had applied through an online portal developed by the state government for just an equitable access to employment into the State service.

It advises the public especially those that applied to disregard any information or request for money in the name of lobbying for or securing employment into the State Civil Service.

The statement notes that successful applicants will soon be contacted through the appropriate channels to conclude the recruitment process.

According to the statement, the office of the Head of Service advised any person with relevant information regarding the syndicates or fraudsters to approach security agencies nearest to them for appropriate action.
