Participants at a step down training for the implementation of operational modalities of the National Community-Led Monitoring Plan in Nigeria have been enjoined to strive hard in strengthening health system through community engagement.
The Executive Chairman the Bauchi State Agency for the Control of HIV and AIDS, Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Malaria BACATMA Dr Adamu Umar Sambo made the call during a two day Training on domestication of National Community System Strengthening (CSS) framework Organise by the COVID 19 Response Mechanism Project Global Fund grant held in Bauchi.
Dr Adamu Sambo, represented by the Director and Programme Manager, Tuberculosis, Leprosy, Hepatitis and Bruli Ulcer Control, Suleman Danladi explained that, the framework would assist in improving health care service delivery at the community level.
The Executive Chairman of BACATMA used the medium to appeal to implementing CBOs to intensify drug resistance Tuberculosis Case finding in the communities they operate, assuring the state government’s continued support for the project to achieve its target.

Earlier the Bauchi State Chairman Civil Society in Malaria Control Immunization and Nutrition ACOMIN, Munkaila Musa said the essence of the step down meeting was to domesticate the Community System Strengthening through inclusion of diseases that are of public concern in the communities.
Munkaila Musa explained that, the Participants were drawn from BACATMA, State Primary Health Care Board, Human Rights Commission, fifteen Community Based Organisations and traditional institution.
On his part the State Coordinator COVID 19 Response Mechanism Project, Abdullahi Ibrahim who is also the State Chairman NEPWHAN said the Harmonised Community System Strengthening Framework would help the state in identifying gaps and addressing them in the community, through engaging all stakeholders including the vulnerable population.
In a remark the State Programne Officer, COVID-19 Response Mechanism Project, Dauda Makka said at the end of training participants would have a good understanding of the National CSS and CLM framework for Implementation nationwide.
