Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has approved the appointment of one hundred and forty-two new district heads across the twenty emirate councils and chiefdom of the state, aimed at strengthening traditional administration.
The Chairman, Local Government Service Commission Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Wabi made this known while briefing journalists at the Government House Bauchi, citing Sections sixteen, subsections one and fourteen of the state chieftaincy law as the legal basis.
Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Wabi explained that the appointments represent the first phase, with a second phase expected later, noting that selections were based on recommendations from royal fathers and wide consultations to ensure fairness, justice, and inclusivity.
According to him, Governor Bala Mohammed has directed royal fathers to promptly conduct the turbaning ceremonies, while the newly appointed district heads are expected to maintain good conduct, loyalty, and harmonious relationships with their communities.
He therefore congratulated the appointees and urged them to regard their appointments as a divine call to serve with integrity and fear of God.
