Bauchi State twenty twenty six appropriation bill of over eight hundred and seventy eight billion naira has scaled second reading at the State House of Assembly.
This followed a motion moved by the Majority Leader of the House, Saleh Hodi Jibri shortly after the state governor Senator Bala Muhammad presented the appropriation bill at the floor of the house.
The sitting presided over by the Speaker Abubakar Sulaiman assured speedy passage of the budget as well as to pass it into law before the end of the year.
Abubakar Sulaiman said for the last six years the present government gave priority to unprecedented transformation in infrastructure, health, education, Digital economy, empowerment among others.
He urged government to direct all Executives of Ministries, Departments and Agencies to avail themselves before the relevant house committees for the defense of their budget in order to ensure smooth passage of the fiscal estimates.
The House referred the proposed budget to its committee on appropriation for further legislative duties as well as suspended its plenary and tasks the lawmakers to buckle up towards the speedy passage of the appropriation bill.
