The Association of Resident Doctors ATBUTH Bauchi in Collaboration with Child Health and Mortality prevention surveillance CHAMPS has Organised a Medical Outreach to Sensitize women of reproductive age on safe pregnancy and Child Health held at Bayara General Hospital Bauchi.
Speaking at the event the Lead Data to action CHAMPS Dr Abubakar Musa Sari Said the participants who are women of reproductive age would be enlightened on danger signs during pregnancy as part of measures in reducing maternal and Child mortality.
He mentioned that the participants would also be screen on the endemic diseases that include Malaria, Diabetes, hypertension and other diseases that are related to under five Children and women of reproductive age.
The CHAMPS Lead Data to Action express optimism that at the end of the community outreach the participants would be properly inform on safe pregnancy, Child nutrition and immunization.
Dr Abubakar Sari emphasis that CHAMPS Project is complementing the effort of the state in prevention of Child Mortality in it’s catchment area of Bauchi and Ganjuwa Local Government Areas.
Speaking on behalf of the Association of Resident Doctors ATBUTH Bauchi Dr Sani Abdulkarim Giade Said the collaboration is part of the activities marking the Association annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference 2025.
Dr Sani Giade explain that the presentation focus on danger signs during pregnancy which includes bleeding, hypertension, eclimpsia, Gestational Diabetes, post natal care, Child Health among others.
” The Comprehension of knowledge from the participants is very remarkable because local language (Hausa) were used and opportunity where given for questions on grey areas during presentation”
The Senior Registrar in the Department of Community Medicine appeal to pregnant Women to always attend Antenatal care for their health and unborn child.
” We need to come together to change the negative indices of Maternal and Child Mortality as a result of preventable diseases in this part of the World ”
Some of the participants Sa’adatu Hassan and Maryam Hassan from Bayara Said they are well informed on Safe Pregnancy, ANC, Breastfeeding, Infection among others and promised to stepdown knowledge acquired for the benefits of all members of Bayara Community and environs.
