Leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Bauchi State chapter, has applauded Governor Bala Mohammed for responding to the needs of the Christian community and promoting religious harmony across the state.
The delegation was led by the State CAN Chairman, Reverend Abraham Damina, represented by the chapter’s Secretary, Reverend Matthew Wakili, alongside other senior Christian leaders during a Christmas homage to the Governor at the Government House, Bauchi.
The CAN leadership expressed gratitude to the Governor for the Christmas goodwill extended to Christians across the state, describing the gesture as a symbol of unity, compassion, and shared belonging among the people of Bauchi State.
They also praised the Governor’s commitment to peace and security, noting that Bauchi State remains peaceful, allowing Christians to worship freely without fear, intimidation, or discrimination.
The association further lauded the administration for its support to Christian infrastructure, including the provision of new Christian cemeteries, church projects, and efforts toward the completion and commissioning of key religious facilities.
Responding, Governor Bala Mohammed reaffirmed his commitment to fairness, justice, and equal treatment of all religious groups, stressing that government resources belong to all citizens without exclusion.
The Governor called for sustained prayers and cooperation from religious leaders, emphasizing that peace, unity, and mutual respect remain vital tools for development, stability, and harmonious coexistence in Bauchi State.
Governor Bala Mohammed later addressed thousands of Christian faithful who gathered at the Government House for a similar Christmas homage, urging continued unity and peaceful coexistence across the state.
