The Bauchi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ has called on the newly appointed Northeast Zonal Director of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN, Malam Dahiru Garba Mohammed to deploy his wealth of experience in journalism to enhance the performance of all FRCN FM stations across the zone.
The Chairman of the Council Comrade Umar Sa’idu made the call when he led NUJ officials on a solidarity visit to the new Zonal Director in his office.
Comrade Umar Sa’idu described Malam Dahiru Garba as an ace journalist who successfully applied his managerial skills to transform Fombina FM in Yola from a deplorable state prior to his recent elevation.
He urged him to collaborate with the NUJ and other relevant stakeholders in the media sector to ensure the effective running of his new office and to achieve greater success.
Responding, the Acting Zonal Director Malam Dahiru Garba Mohammed appreciated the NUJ for the visit and assured of his commitment to restoring the lost glory of FRCN FM stations under his supervision.
According to him, listeners across the Northeast zone will soon begin to witness improved and quality programming made possible through effective collaboration with General Managers of FM stations in the area.
