Bauchi State Government says 2834 Civil Servants divided into two batches are set to write the 2025 Civil Service Promotion Examination across various MDAs.

The State Head of Civil Service HOS Barrister Mohammed Sani Umar stated this at the opening of a 2-day Sensitisation Workshop for this year’s Civil Service Promotion Examination held at Multi-purpose Indoor Sports Hall Bauchi.

Barrister Mohammed Umar said the significant improvement in candidates performance during the last promotion examination from 75 to 83 percent proved the effectiveness of the capacity building initiatives of government and dedication of the Civil Servants.

“I am delighted to report that our efforts in conducting similar workshops in the past have yielded remarkable results. Last year’s Promotion Examination saw significant improvement in performance, with the pass percentage rising from 75 to 83 percent”, the HOS states.

He restated the commitment of the service to meritocracy, professionalism and service delivery, urging the participants to take advantage of the training by applying the knowledge gained to improve their performance for the growth and development of the state.

In a remark, the Chairman Civil Service Commission Dr Ibrahim Alhaji Muhammad said every government requires an efficient civil service to deliver dividends of democracy to the people and the only way to have an efficient workforce is through trainings, promotion examinations among other activities to make them proactive.

Dr Ibrahim Alhaji disclosed that the present leadership of the commission upon assumption instituted a taskforce which succeeded in clearing all backlog of promotions dating back to 2023, and now all resolutions and other approvals are attended to within two weeks.

The Training Consultant and Former Secretary to Military Administration in Bauchi State, Alhaji Gambo Magaji who listed areas to cover during the training to include Public Service regulations, discipline, public procurement laws among others, urged the participants to pay attention to presentations as only areas covered will appear in the examination.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary General Administration Barrister Dawud Yakubu represented by the Overseeing Permanent Secretary Servicom Matters Bureau Ismail Ibn Lumo appreciated the present administration for providing all the needed support to conduct the exercise, noted that the training is designed to equip the participants with knowledge and confidence needed to excel in the examination.

“By investing in your growth and development we are investing in the future of our state. I urge you to take full advantage of this opportunity o engage actively, and apply the knowledge gained to improve your performance and contribute to the growth and development of our state”, Barrister Dawud appeals.

Radio Nigeria Globe FM gathered that the 2,834 participants are expected to write the 2025 promotion examination in two batches.
