Women wing of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Bauchi State says it will equip it retiring members with entrepreneurial skills to become self-reliant after exiting service.

The entrepreneurial skills training is in the area of ICT, hair dressing, fashion design, knitting and confectionaries among others.

The Chairperson, Comrade Hauwa Abbas Waziri who stated this while granting audience to newsmen in Bauchi explained that the Congress has concluded arrangement to engage Women workers in various entrepreneurship skills for them not to become redundant after 35 years of service.

Comrade Hauwa Abbas who said Women have been left behind,a situation that is making them to become vulnerable in the society, noted that the Congress is committed to ensuring that women workers are not discriminated in the cause of their duties.

Sje said the women wing of the NLC would work closely with the office of the Head of Service and the office of the First lady through the ministry of Women affairs to improve the welfare of its members across the state.

The Chairperson applauded the state Chairman of the NLC Comrade Shuaibu Dauda Shuaibu for his support and called on members to cooperate with the leadership of the NLC to move the union to greater heights.

Meanwhile, Bauchi state Women wing of the Nigerian Labour Congress NLC says it would facilitate the construction of female convenience in collaboration with the state government across MDAs where there are no female toilets.

The Chairperson of the NLC Women wing Comrade Hauwa Abbas Waziri who made this known in an interview with newsmen in Bauchi said they will liaise with Heads of various MDAs for seamless execution of the initiative.

Comrade Hauwa Waziri explained that such effort is part of the wings pet project aimed at improving the welfare of its members in the state.

“We will do our best to deliver our mandates, she added.”

She said the Women wing is committed to ensure that women workers serve in a conducive environment without interference.

According to her, part of their activities include visitation to the palace of the Emir of Bauchi, hospitals, Motherless homes and other strategic places.
