Hails Damagum’s Confirmation,

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Governors’ Forum, Senator Bala Mohammed has explained that the party’s decision to zone its presidential ticket to the southern part of the country was taken in the spirit of promoting sanity and mutual understanding in Nigeria’s political landscape.
Speaking with journalists in Bauchi, the Chairman emphasized that politics should not be driven by personal ambition but by the collective interest of strengthening democracy through robust internal party mechanisms noting that the decision reflects the PDP’s commitment to fairness and inclusiveness.
Bala Mohammed who is also the Governor of Bauchi State revealed that although he was among those who had earlier expressed interest in contesting for the presidency, he fully accepted the party’s resolution aimed at fostering unity and reduce tension within the political system.
On the confirmation of Ambassador Umar Damagum as the substantive National Chairman of the PDP, the Governor said the move was an all-inclusive decision designed to address internal challenges.
He further expressed optimism that the steps being taken by the PDP would strengthen the party ahead of its forthcoming National Convention scheduled for 15th October 2025 and urged members and supporters to rally behind the leadership in order to consolidate the party’s chances in future elections.
