Students of Colleges of Health Sciences in Bauchi State have been urged to focus on their learning activities towards contributing to the development of the health sector in the state.
The State Comissioner of Health, Dr. Sani Muhammad Danbam made the call during the matriculation ceremony of Seventy nine Nursing and Midwifery students of Al-huda College of Nursing Sciences for the 2025/2026 Academic session held at the College premises.
Dr. Sani Danbam represented by the Director of Public Health, Alhaji Abdullahi Dan’asabe emphasized the need for the Colleges to concentrate in providing practical skills to students for them to effectively serve in government and private healthcare centres.
He appreciated the management of the College for its contribution to the development of the health sector in the State.
In a remark, the College Provost, Aliyu Idris Abubakar who said the College secured approval from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria in 2023 to train future Nurses and Midwives, further disclosed that the institution is currently awaiting NBTE approval to run ND and HND programmes.
On his part, the College Director, Malandi Adamu Sabo Gololo called on the matriculants to take the lead as pioneer students by upholding discipline throughout the period of their studies in the college.
The event had in attendance healthcare professionals, family and friends of matriculants among others.
