The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC Bauchi Office says it has so far received over one thousand Corp members for the 2026 batch A stream two orientation exercise with a view to promoting unity and national development.
The State Coordinator of the scheme Mr Kufre Umoren disclosed this during the swearing-in ceremony of the corp members held at Malam Y.M Baba Permanent Orientation Camp Wailo in Ganjuwa Local government area of Bauchi State.
Mr Kufre Umoren who said more prospective corp members are still being expected to arrive in the state as the orientation continues, promised to prioritise Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship development to enable them become self-reliant during and after the service year.
He commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his unwavering support to the NYSC and assured that the corps members would continue to provide services where they are most needed especially in rural areas.
Declaring the Orientation open, Governor Bala Mohammed represented by the Commissioner of Youth and Sports development Alhaji Adamu Gabarin urged the corp members to take the lead in advocating for national development and transformation.
Bala Mohammed who said his administration has completed the construction of nine hostels, multipurpose hall and the camp perimeter fence which collapsed two years ago due to the heavy rainfall, assured of continued support and welfare to the teaming corp members in the state.
Administering the Oath of allegiance, the State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Umar represented by Justice Aliyu Bin Idris charged the corp members to maintain law and order towards a peaceful orientation exercise.
