A Former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Abdulmalik Mahmood has donated a piece of land to the Bala Wunti Support Organisation BWSO.

This is part of efforts to strengthen the organisation’s grassroots-oriented programmes and vision of improving the social and economic well-being of the people of the State.

The Bala Wunti Support Organisation BWSO, is a Non-governmental establishment founder by Dr Bala Maijama’a Wunti to render humanitarian services in the form of community empowerment, social development and improved livelihoods across the state.

A Statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Organisation Kamal Ibrahim quotes the Chief Executive Officer, Malam Mukhtar Jarmajo as saying the donated piece of land located in Itas, Itas-Gadau Local Government Area, will support the construction of the organisation’s permanent secretariat.

While expressing appreciation to the former Deputy Governor, the organisation says the increasing support from influential citizens, community leaders, and stakeholders demonstrates the growing acceptance of the Bala Wunti philosophy in humanitarian service and grassroots empowerment.

It reaffirms commitment to sustaining its interventions and expanding initiatives that positively impact communities across Bauchi State.

The Donor and Former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Abdulmalik Mahmood described the gesture as part of his contribution towards advancing initiatives that promote community empowerment, social development and improved livelihoods for the people.

“Dr. Wunti’s commitment to charity, grassroots development and improving the lives of ordinary citizens has changed the way people perceive community-focused leadership in Bauchi State. The establishment of a permanent office will further enhance BWSO’s ability to expand and sustain its programmes,” he said.

Mahmood said BWSO’s interventions reflect the positive leadership values and humanitarian principles of Dr Bala Wunti, adding that support for organisations with such commitment to community development remains essential in building stronger and more resilient communities.
