Some Education Stakeholders in Toro local government area of Bauchi state have passed a Vote of Confidence on the State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB over the improved Monitoring and Supervision in the basic education sub-sector.

Similarly, the board has been commended for appointing competent School Support Officers SSOs, and Area Education Officers AEOs across the state.

The Head of Monitoring and Evaluation Unit of Toro Local Education Authority LEA Malam Yakubu Bako stated this at an event to honour the Director Monitoring and Evaluation M&E of the board Alhaji Abbas Abdulmumini over the improvement in monitoring as well as quality teaching and learning in schools across the area.

Malam Yakubu Bako said the board’s M&E Directorate had in the past one year significantly improved standards in schools’ administration and learning outcomes, with schools in the area showing visible progress in pupils performance, teachers dedication and strict evaluation with officers having mobility and working tools.

Earlier, the Director School Services Malam Zuhairu Usman described the event as a rare step taken by officials of the same organisation to recognise the exemplary performance of a managerial staff publicly, urging others to emulate the gesture for improved service delivery.

Speaking, the Executive Chairman SUBEB Alhaji Abubakar Isa represented by the Permanent Commissioner One Alhaji Isiaku Abdullahi who thanked the officers for the recognition, said the award is not kust for the Director alone but the entire board as all the departments work interdependently to move the sub-sector forward.

Responding, the Awardee and Director M&E SUBEB Malam Abbas Abdulmumini recalled how the former Executive Chairman ordered that all School Support Officers and Area Education Officers undergo screening to ensure the best are appointed to supervise teaching and learning activities particularly in rural areas.

Abbas Abdulmumini promised to sustain strict monitoring and evaluation across schools to ensure value for money and the delivery of sound, quality education to children in all nooks and crannies of the state.
