As part of efforts to ensure transparency and effective delivery of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment AGILE initiative in Bauchi State, a Consultant from the national headquarters of the project has commenced a validation monitoring exercise in the state.
Speaking at the commencement of the exercise, the Consultant Quantity Surveyor Timothy Benjamin, said part of the activity was to verify the existence and veracity of schools selected for renovation under the AGILE project.
QS Timothy said he will confirm whether the list of schools submitted by the AGILE Bauchi office are physically present, operational and suitable for the renovation works.
“I’m here to validate the information we received and ensure that the schools truly exist and meet the criteria for intervention,” Benjamin stated during a field visit.
On his part, the State Commissioner of Education, Dr Lawal Mohammed, expressed the state government’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure.
“I am here to personally witness the validation exercise and to reaffirm the unwavering support of the Bauchi State Government, under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed. Education is the right of every child, and our government is working hard to provide a conducive learning environment,” the commissioner said.
Also Speaking, the State AGILE Project Coordinator, Hajiya Ladi Mohammed Hamma, who said the validation would help fast-track the project’s implementation, noted that approximately 1,000 schools were earmarked for renovation across the state.
The validation team which visited selected schools in Bauchi Central and North senatorial districts, is expected to continue the field assessment to ensure transparency and effective delivery of the AGILE initiative in the state.
