Government at all Levels have been advised to adopt the construction of Recreational Facilities in neighborhoods towards addressing the challenges of Phone Snatching and other crimes perpetrated by Irate Youth in homes and streets.
A Public Commentator and Lecturer with Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic ATAP, Bauchi Comrade Abdullahi Yelwa gave the advise on Ina Muka Dosa, a Radio Nigeria Globe FM Current Affairs Programme.
Comrade Abdullahi Yelwa, an expert on Security matters and Human relations who attributed the problem to breakdown in parental upbringing, peer pressure, joblessness among other factors called on government to provide avenues of engaging the youth to become productive.
He emphasised the need for all stakeholders including traditional institutions, security, parents a d guardians to unite towards proferring solution to the issue of phone, motorcycle and house thefts in the state.
The Academic further urged government and stakeholders to provide the needed facilities for the youth and punishment for perpetrators of phone snatching among other crimes and community mobilisation to guarantee improved security in neighborhoods.
Callers to the programme, Mujahid Yahaya, Alhaji Abbas Kasuwar Wunti, Sulen Kwari, Gainako Umar Kirfi, Iliyasu Mai Rake and Danlami Handsome guy commended Radio Nigeria for introducing the programme, noting that security is major concern in the metropolis.
While calling for community mobilisation to address such security threats, the callers advised government to strengthen skills acquisition programmes for the youth to become productive.
