Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB has urged Corporate Organisations, Philanthropists and other well meaning individuals to support the state government’s drive in providing teaching and learning materials in schools to guarantee a brighter future for the upcoming generation.

The Executive Chairman of the board, Alhaji Abubakar Isa made the call during the 2025/2026 3rd Term resumption inspection visit to some selected schools, noted that government alone cannot cater for the needs of schools in the state.

Alhaji Abubakar Isa represented by the Permanent Commissioner two Alhaji Idris Hardawa said there are over one thousand schools in Bauchi alone, hence the need for financial institutions, companies and individuals to provide desks, chairs and other instructional materials to secure the future of the children.

He expressed worry over the lack of adequate preparation among teachers towards the commencement of academic activities, warning that the government will not condone such negligence.

In an interview with Radio Nigeria, the Director Monitoring and Evaluation of the board Alhaji Abbas Abdulmumini said the board has deemed it necessary to organise periodic training for School Support Officers SSOs, Area Education Officers AEOs and teachers on the basic rudiments of teaching like breaking of Scheme of Work, and preparing lesson plan to ensure smooth running of academic activities.

Abbas Abdulmumini said the board will henceforth deploy Evaluators, AEOs and SSOs to go round schools on a daily basis to ensure strict monitoring of teachers and lessons delivering for better outcome.

Schools visited within Bauchi metropolis included Army 1 and 2 Primary Schools Shadawanka barrack, Guru Primary, Government Day Junior Secondary Wuntin Dada and Tsohon Kamfani primary school.

Other monitoring teams visited Schools at Ningi, Ganjuwa, Giade, Shira and Misau local governments in the Central and Northern zones.
