A two-day free medical outreach has commenced in Bauchi state offering a range of medical services preparatory to the forthcoming Economic and Investment Summit.
The event targeting over one thousand people, was organised by the State Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in collaboration with the African Medical Centre of Excellence.
Launching the event at Central Primary School Liman Katagum, in Bauchi local government, the State Deputy Governor, Auwal Jatau said the aim was to improve the health status of citizens in the state.

Auwal Jatau represented by the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, said the first day would focus on clinical services to include antenatal, immunisation, general medical consultations, laboratory investigations and pharmaceutical services.
The Deputy Governor who is also the Chairman, Task Force Committee on Primary Health Care disclosed that the second day would be dedicated to surgeries following the outcome of investigations conducted on beneficiaries, with sustained medical care for them.

Speaking, the Commissioner of Health and Social Welfare, Dr Sani Mohammed Dambam represented by the Managing Director of the State Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (DMMA) Abdulkadir Ahmed, urged residents to avail themselves the opportunity provided by the outreach.
On his part, the Executive Chairman State Primary Health Care Board Dr Rilwanu Mohammed, said about one hundred health workers, including thirty doctors and ten pharmacists have been deployed to offer the required services.
