The Federal and Bauchi State Governments have been urged to make a Special Annual Budgetary allocation for the remembrance and celebration of the life and times of the first and only Nigeria’s Prime Minister Sir Abubakar Tafawa Barewa.

The State Coordinator Bauchi State Trade Facilitation Centre Dr Bala Mahmoud Abubakar made the call the 2025 Annual Prayer in honour of Late Prime Minister Sir Abubakar Tafawa Barewa held at his Tomb in Bauchi.
Dr Bala Mahmoud said the kinds of events organised to honour the late Prime Minister does not bequeath his status, hence to the need for the government to organise befitting periodic events to teach the younger generations about the struggles, legacies and leadership qualities of the Golden voice of Africa.
He called for the allocation of between five hundred million to one billion naira toward organising a two day event at both state and National levels where leaders, technocrats, diplomats and academics would sit and x-ray the life of the late prime minister to imbibe his lifestyle to improve governance.
Earlier, the State Commissioner of Culture and Tourism Abdul Hassan who described the late Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa as a testament to selfless service, sacrifice, and the enduring power of unity, prayer that his life and time will continue to inspire every generation of Nigerian leadership and citizenry to rise above the shadows of division and work for the common good of the nation.
Abdul Hassan represented by the General Manager State Tourism Development Corporation Dr Nasir Yusuf said the event is not an annual tradition but a renewed commitment to the ideals of justice, peace, and National cohesion which he stood for.
The Emir of Bauchi Dr Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu represented by Dawakin Bauchi Malam Maimako Babaji commend the state government for upholding the annual event in remembering the life of the first Prime Minister, hoping that the younger ones will imbibe his enduring leadership qualities for a better future.
In their separate remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry Dr Ciroma Ahmad Malle represented by Malam Isa Jibrin, and the Curator National Museum and Monuments Bauchi Office Muhammad Sani Dalhatu appreciated all stakeholders for their support and contribution towards the success of the event and prayed for eternal rest on the soul of the late prime minister.
Highlights of the event were citation of Biography of the deceased, prayer at the Prime minister’s tomb, excursion at his library among others.
