People of Mainari, Chabai and Zindi communities of Misau local government area of Bauchi State have expressed satisfaction over the free medical outreach programme conducted there by the Global Medaccess Foundation (GMAF).
The three-day medical outreach programme, aimed at improving healthcare of pregnant women, and support children and orphans with writing materials to aid their schooling, being the most vulnerable in the society.
In an exclusive interview with Radio Nigeria, the representative of the Ward Head of Chabai, Hassan Buba said the intervention was apt in view of the situation of women and children in the community, noting it would reduce pregnancy-related complications and encourage school attendance among children.
A Pregnant Woman also in Chabai community, Maryam Sallau confirmed that she was given delivery kits and other medications required for improved healthcare and prevention of anemia.
The Village Head of Zindi, Alhaji Salisu Muhammad noted that the programme would motivate the pregnant women to deliver in the facility as well as encourage children to concentrate in studying and learning.
In Menari village Amina Yakubu, a mother said she and her eight-year old child were checked, diagnosed and given medication, expressing appreciation to the sponsor of the programme, Dr Umar Ahmad and his principal, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate.
