The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has Flagg of the distribution of Farming Imputs to Twenty Five Cooperative Societies and Commodity Associations in Bauchi State aimed at boosting Farming activities to achieve Food Security.

Speaking at event, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari said the event marked a signicant milestone in  the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu who declared State of Emergency on Food Security as a National in July, 2023.

Represented by the Director General Services in the ministry, Mr. Kezito  Guskas, the Minister explained that the Federal Government is determine to prioritize Farming activities in the country by introducing various ecnomic reforms to stimulate productive capacity, Create jobs and reduce cost of living.

Abubakar Kyari maintained that the Fedetal Government has resolved to develop the agricultural sector and improve local production as well as attaining the objectives of the Sustainalble Development Goals particularly that of Zero Hunger.

He urged private, and non governmental organisations and the state government to key in to the programs to help federal government achieve its desired of ensuring Food Security, economic growth and poverty reduction.

” this is just the beginning more plans are still under the pipeline until the country overcomes its Food challenges”

On her part, the state Coodinator of the Ministry,  Ishaku  Khadija said the aimed of the programme is to help farmers to boost their production in Farming activities through government intervention of providing  equipment and other farm inputs to registered  Association and Cooperative societies in the state.

The state commissioner for Ministry of Agriculture Dr. Aliyu Gital who acknowledged the contributions of the federal government to famers in the state pledged to compliment the efforts in that direction.

” I also urged farmers associations in the state to hold the local government chairmen accountable because farming activities is largely done at the local government level”

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Chairman Dungulbe Farmers Associations Mal. Lawal Musa thanked the federal government for the gesture and promised to utilize the items provided judiciously.

The imputs and equipment given to the beneficiaries comprises Herbicides  organic fertilizer, rice seeds  wheat seeds, insecticide, knapsack sprayer growth enhancers. Power tillers and water pumps among others.
