The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, ATBU Bauchi has warned stakeholders from within and outside the University community against dealing in any transactions, official or personal, in the name of the Vice Chancellor Professor Ibrahim Hassan Garba on Social Media.
A statement by the University’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Zailani Bappa says fraudsters have continued to create Facebook accounts in the name of the Vice Chancellor, warning that the accounts are fake.
The statement which says several of such attempts have been made by the fraudsters in the past and successfully addressed, expressed worry that the fraudulent accounts are getting credence from stakeholders, including members of the University community.
It notes that the facebook accounts are fake and the Vice Chancellor has no social media accounts, calling on stakeholders who have formed part of the fraudsters’ friends and followers in the last few days to unfriend them and desist from any transactions, official or personal.
