Global Medaccess Foundation Conducts Free Medical Outreach

A three-day free medical outreach programme is being conducted in Misau local government area of the Bauchi State by Global Medaccess Foundation (GMAF), targeting pregnant women, school children and orphans.

The programme in its first day was conducted in Ajili, Dabji and Sirko communities where pregnant women who are six months and below, were supported with the needed medication such as Fersolate, Folic Acid, calcium lactate, sulpha-doxine, danacid among others.

For those who are seven months and above, they were given both medication and delivery kits, while children were given exercise books and pencils to support their schooling.

The Team Lead, Mr Mbico Modu said the programme was offering free medical consultation, taking record of patients and administering medication as well as making referrals where necessary.

Mr Modu said the programme is being supported by Turakin Walin Gabas of Misau, Dr Umar Ahmad, aimed at improving people’s healthcare in line with the agenda of the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate.

He solicited the support of Misau people and blessing of the Emir to ensure successful implementation of the programme.

Launching the programme, the Emir of Misau, Alhaji Ahmed Sulaiman, who said the intervention was timely, assured the medical team of the Emirate’s support, expressing optimism that the three-day programme would be successful.

The Emir commended the organisers for their foresight and prayed to Allah to reward them abundantly.
