In Bauchi State, Governor Bala Mohammed says the peaceful Sallah celebration signifies his administration’s dedication to tackling recent security challenges affecting parts of the state, particularly in Alkaleri Local Government Area.
Speaking to journalists after observing congregational Eid prayers at Bauchi Central Eid Ground, the governor praised security agencies for their efforts for restoring restoring peace in the affected communities.
Governor Bala Mohammed urged citizens to remain vigilant, reporting suspicious activities promptly, stressing that community cooperation with security agencies is vital in safeguarding lives and property against emerging security threats.
He assured residents that his administration remains committed to maintaining security, emphasizing that protecting lives and property is a shared responsibility between government and the people.
The governor extended warm Eid-el-Fitr greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Bauchi State, across Nigeria, and the world, celebrating the occasion as a time for unity, peace, and reflection on moral values.
He commended religious leaders for guiding communities during Ramadan, promoting moral integrity, fostering unity, and encouraging peaceful coexistence across the state’s diverse population.
While pledging continued efforts to ease citizens’ hardships, the governor assured to consolidate on the achievements recorded by his administration provision of critical infrastructure and social intervention programmes as part of his development agenda.
Earlier in his Sermon, the Chief Imam of Bauchi, Imam Bala Baban Inna who urged Muslims to used the Ramadan’s lessons beyond the month, called on government, religious and traditional leaders to uphold their responsibilities for societal well-being and moral guidance.
He further emphasized the importance of compassion, charity, and discipline, urging faithful to sustain acts of kindness, support the less privileged, and promote harmony within communities.
