Bauchi SUBEB seeks stronger media partnership to boost basic education.

The Executive Chairman, Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Abubakar Isa, has called for closer synergy with journalists to help amplify the activities of the board and report educational challenges facing communities for prompt intervention and resolution.
Alhaji Abubakar Isa made the call while receiving journalists from the broadcast media covering the education sector during a courtesy visit in his office.
He said the media plays a critical role in publicising government activities, particularly in the education sector.
Abubakar Isa urged the journalists to continually sensitise the public on the board’s activities, especially those relating to infrastructure development, provision of teaching and learning materials, as well as reporting complaints and other challenges affecting communities in the basic education subsector.
The Executive Chairman who emphasised the need for effective information dissemination, noted that timely and accurate reporting would assist the board in identifying gaps and responding swiftly to issues requiring attention.
He also assured of sustained collaboration with the media in keeping the public informed about government policies and programmes aimed at securing a better future for the younger generation.
Earlier, the leader of the forum and Correspondent with Bauchi Television Authority (BATV), Salisu Bala Halliru, said the visit was to foster mutual understanding and explore areas of cooperation that would enhance their professional reportage.
Members of the forum included Correspondents from State-owned Television and Radio stations, Radio Nigeria Globe FM, NTA, Albarka Radio, Eagle Radio, Social Media crew and the board’s PR Unit.
