Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their role in securing a reduction in the cost of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
Speaking at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport after returning from Saudi Arabia, Professor Abdullahi said the Federal Government played a key role in negotiating better deals with service providers for Nigerian pilgrims.
During a visit to Saudi Arabia, the NAHCON delegation signed agreements with Mashariq Al Dhahabiyya for services at the holy sites and Daleel Al Maaleem for transport, as well as accommodation and catering providers in Madinah.
The delegation also met with officials of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, who stressed the need for Nigeria to strictly comply with regulations and timelines.
Meanwhile, NAHCON has announced the 2026 Hajj fare: intending pilgrims from Borno, Yobe, Adamawa and Taraba will pay ₦8,118,333.67; other northern states, ₦8,244,813.67; while those from southern states will pay ₦8,561,013.67.
The Commission has urged all intending pilgrims to complete payments by the end of December in line with Saudi guidelines.
