Three hundred and ninety vulnerable persons in Yelwan Duguri community, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, are being enrolled by the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC.
The exercise, facilitated by the Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency, BASHCMA, aims to enable beneficiaries access the state’s health contributory scheme for improved healthcare delivery.
Executive Secretary of BASHCMA, Alhaji Ibrahim Inuwa, said the targeted enrollees include pregnant women, the elderly, children, and persons with disabilities under the agency’s vulnerable group component.
He explained that the registration was being carried out under the Federal Government’s Basic Health Care Provision Fund, BHCPF, to enhance access to affordable healthcare services in rural areas.
Alhaji Inuwa noted that taking the exercise to the community was to ease the process for residents and ensure that more vulnerable persons benefit from the health programme.
A beneficiary, Habiba Yahaya, appreciated BASHCMA for bringing NIMC officials to the community, noting that many residents previously faced challenges travelling to the council headquarters for enrolment.
