Dozens of Officers and Men of the Bauchi State Police command took part in a Walkathon exercise as part of this year’s National Police day celebrations.
Addressing the personnel after the exercise, the State Police Commissioner CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu charged them to be disciplined and shun away from all acts that would bring disrepute to the police force while discharging their official duties.
CP Sani Omolori who emphasized the need for collective efforts to strengthen the security architecture of the state, urged the people of the state to help security agencies with useful information towards addressing social vices across the state.
He explained that the walkathon exercise is part of activities marking the celebration aimed to promote physical fitness among officers and men, Police Community Relations Committee and the image of the force.
The Commissioner of Police listed other activities lined up to include free medical outreach, environmental sanitation and awareness lectures on electoral offences and importance of safe driving practices.
In a remark, the Chairman Police Community Relations Committee PCRC ‘B’ Division Malam Aminu Tanimu acknowledged the visible success recorded due to cordial relationship between them and the command thanked the people of the state for their continued support and cooperation, urging them to sustain the tempo.
