Globe FM 98.5 Bauchi is one of the thirty six FM stations initiated by the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo under the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) network expansion plan.

Globe FM Bauchi was formally launched on the  29th of July, 2003.

The station has played a critical role over the years and still makes impact in the dissemination of information to the grassroot, creating the needed political awareness and keeping listeners abreast about happenings and publicizing government policies and programmes.

Like other FM stations understand the FRCN fold, the vision of the station remains same: To create and maintain a broadcast outfit that will serve as a model in Nigeria and Africa in terms of standards, professionalism and character, while its mandate is to uplift the people and unite the nation.

Globe FM Bauchi started broadcast on test transmission on the 29th of July, 2003 for just five hours daily.

Alhaji Ibrahim Maigandi Usman was the pioneer General Manager of the station who served from 29th July, 2003- 31st of August 2005.

Alhaji Gambo Ibrahim also served as General Manager on acting capacity for a period of one month before the appointment of Alhaji Musa Waziri Hardawa on the 26th of September, 2005 who equally served in that capacity till the 2nd  of April, 2007.

Malam Musa Usman was then deployed as General Manager to take over from Alhaji Musa Waziri Hardawa on 3rd April 2007 and he also served up to 1st June 2014.

Alhaji Ya’u Yusuf Nadabo then became General Manager from 1st of  June 2014 to 13th August 2015.

Comrade Dahiru Garba Mohammed took over from 13th of  August 2015 to 30th December 2016 as General Manager.

Malam Aminu Tahir Goggo became General Manager from 31st December 2016 to 30th October 2017.

The current General Manager Malam Mohammed Aminu Abdullahi (Gombi) took over on the 31st of October 2017 to date.

Radio Nigeria Globe FM currently has Ten Departments which include Engineering, News and Current Affairs, Programmes, Administration, Marketing, Finance &Accounts, Audit, Procurement , Research &Planning and ICT.

The station enjoys unmatched strength in terms of scope of  coverage spanning across eight states in the Northern part of the country, which include, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Borno, Yobe, Plateau, Kaduna and Kano. This helped the station maintaining its lead amongst its pears especially in the North East geopolitical zone.
Globe FM transmits on frequency modulation 98.5 MHz with the capacity of transmitting up to 20kilowatts.

Globe FM has contributed immensely towards informing, educating, entertainment, creating awareness through all inclusive coverage of  political activities, religions affairs, youth and women development.
