The Bauchi State Government has commenced distribution of 147,756 Assorted Textbooks and other instructional materials to basic and upper basic schools across the twenty local government areas under the 2025/26 UBEC/SUBEB intervention.
The items include Assorted Textbooks, Chalks, Dusters, Exercise Books, School Bags, Shoes, Pencils, Attendance and Admission Registers, School Diary among others.
Speaking at the distribution exercise, the Executive Chairman State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB Alhaji Abubakar Isa said the distribution is an annual exercise aimed at ensuring sustained teaching and learning across public schools.
Alhaji Abubakar Isa represented by his Special Assistant Alhaji Mansur Abdu called on all Education Secretaries and officials saddled with the responsibilities of the exercise to ensure seamless distribution, warning against diversion or selling of the materials.
He expressed hope that the distribution will further strengthen the effort of teachers to deliver quality knowledge as well as enrolment, retention and completion of school among the beneficiaries.
The Executive Chairman used the medium to appeal to the public including parents and other education stakeholders to help monitor the distribution across schools in their communities and report any suspicious behaviour to appropriate authorities for prompt action.
Alhaji Abubakar Isa said the board will deliver the instructional materials to all the twenty local education authorities LEAs for onward distribution to schools.
