Operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission ICPC have tracked twenty nine constituency projects worth over two billion naira in Bauchi State.
This is part of the efforts to ensure that all projects awarded by the Executive and approved by the National Assembly were executed as contained in the Bill of Quantity to ensure value for money.
The tracking exercise which commenced on the 17 of August, 2026 by the Constituency Projects Tracking Group (CPTG) of the Commission comprises personnel from its Abuja and Bauchi offices.
Speaking on the development, the Team Leader and Assistant Chief Superintendent ACS, Mohammed Abdullahi Tanko said the Commission is committed to track the execution, implementation and performance of all government-funded constituency projects across the country.
ACS Tanko noted that Chairman of the Commission Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, has charged Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as well as the Executive arm and members of the National Assembly to ensure that all public funds allocated for government and constituency projects conformed with the actual execution on site.
He explained that the aim of the exercise is to drastically cut down diversion of contract funds, and ensure no project awarded is abandoned.
According to him, the Commission is committed to leverage on technology by using digital tracking, forensic tools, and partnerships with relevant stakeholders to audit public infrastructure across the country.
While urging all affected MDAs, and members of the National Assembly with abandoned projects to mobilise contractors to site, the Team Leader noted that the Commission will not relent in using technology to track all projects to ensure their completion and sanctions anyone found wanting.
The exact amount of money allocated for the 29 projects stand at two billon, sixty two million, one hundred and fifty fuve thousand, six hundred and thirteen naira ninety eight kobo.
