Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic in Bauchi state has matriculated about 2000 students for the 2025/2026 academic session at a ceremony held at its newly constructed 500-seater lecture hall.
Declaring the ceremony opened the Rector, Dr. Hashimu Sabo Bello urged the newly admitted students to strictly adhere to institutional rules, emphasising discipline as a foundation for academic success.
He warned that the management would not tolerate indiscipline, examination malpractice, cultism, or any conduct capable of disrupting academic activities, stressing that offenders would face appropriate sanctions.
Dr. Hashimu Bello further advised students to remain focused, demonstrate commitment to their studies, and take full advantage of the conducive learning environment provided by the institution.
The Rector commended the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, for his sustained support, particularly in infrastructure development and efforts aimed at strengthening academic programmes within the polytechnic.
He noted that the newly completed lecture hall and other ongoing projects reflect the government’s commitment to improving educational standards and enhancing teaching and learning facilities in the institution.
Dr. Hashimu Bello also praised the management and staff for maintaining academic standards and ensuring a smooth admission process, reaffirming commitment to quality education and institutional development.
The break down of the students marticulated according to Departments indicated 413 for Computing, 145 for Engineering, Environmental 192, Liberal 393, Management 417, Sciences 219 as well as SVTE 35.
Some of the students interviewed expressed readiness to comply with the rules and regulations guiding their stay in the institution.
