The newly appointed Commissioner of Higher Education and Regional Integration in Bauchi State, Hajiya Hadiza Abdulkadir Kango, has pledged to work tirelessly to address the challenges facing tertiary institutions in the state.
Hajiya Hadiza Kango made the pledge shortly after taking over the affairs of the ministry from the outgoing Commissioner, Dr. Lydia Haruna Tsammani, who was been redeployed to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development.
The Commissioner who appealed for the support of management and members of staff, assured to operate an open door policy towards the advancement of the education sector.
She commended Governor Bala Muhammad for his commitment to improving the standard of education in the state.
Speaking shortly after handing over, the outgoing Commissioner, Dr Lydia Tsammani, who congratulated her successor on the appointment, briefed the new appointee on the ministry’s mandate, to include the supervision of seven state-owned and sixteen private tertiary institutions.
Dr. Lydia Tsammani charged the new Commissioner to ensure effective supervision, monitoring, and evaluation of both public and private tertiary institutions for effective service delivery.
