The Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB has expressed concerned over the persistent acts of Misconduct by some teachers in the State.

The Executive Chairman of the Board Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri stated this during the opening of a 3-day Capacity building training workshop on Integration of Technology in teaching and learning at the basic education level.

The workshop which is targeting the staff of Planning, Research and Statistics, principals and head teachers was organised by SUBEB in collaboration with Universal Basic Education Commission UBEC.

Alhaji Adamu Duguri who expressed dismay over the negligence by some teachers warned that the board will not take it lightly on those who persistently violate civil service rules.

While outlining some of the areas of concern to include indiscipline, absenteeism, late coming and theft of school property, the SUBEB Chairman urged the participants to pay attention to the training to enhance their skills using interactive digital tools.

Delivery the lecture on Integration of Technology in teaching and learning at Basic education level, a lecturer with the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg Southern Africa Dr. Lawan Abdulhamid said the training would boost teachers competence by using technology and bridge the digital divide across schools.

Dr. Lawan used the medium to appeal to the State government to provide digital resources in schools to enable the teachers catch-up with their counterparts across the globe.
