Five thousand three hundred youth across the country are to benefit from entrepreneurship skills training to enable them become self reliant.
The program organized by Bauchi Zonal office Small and medium enterprises development agency of Nigeria SMEDAN is aimed to developed business skills and entrepreneurship among the youth.
Declaring the training open Governor of Bauchi state Bala Muhammad charge participants to avail themselves the opportunity being provided by government at all levels to improve their economic status and contribute to the development of the country.
Bala Muhammad. Who was represented by the state Commissioner ministry of cooperative and small medium enterprises development Hajiya Sa’adatu Bello kirfi Commended SMEDAN for initiating the empowerment program to help youth become employer’s of labour.
He explained that under Kaura Economic Empowerment program his administration has distributed one thousand unit of Keke to Keke Napep Union and individuals as well as one hundred and fifty vehicles to transport Unions on soft Loans.
The Governor maintained that plans are under way to provide loans to artisans as well as income generation equipment to small and medium enterprises.
On his part,the Director General of SMEDAN Dr Dikko Umar Radda represented by the Deputy Director Engineering and Technology of the Agency Ibrahim Abdulmalik said the program is been implemented in all the states of the federation and FCT where Vocational Skills and empowerment materials would be provided for them after the training.
Dr Dikko Radda said the program is been implemented simultaneously in all the thirty six state.
He commended Governor Bala Muhammad for supporting SMEDAN and MSMES in the state.
Some of the participants spoken Luma Dauda and Habiba Bello Yana expressed happiness for being part of the program and promised to use the knowledge acquired during the training to improve their economic status.
