Northeast Development Commission NEDC is constructing a modern cattles market at Soro town of Ganjuwa Local Government area, one of the busiests weekly markets in Bauchi State.
The move was to decongest the market, allow easy passage of commuters as well as ensuring a hitch free cash transaction in the market.
Addressing journalists after inspecting the project, the Managing Director of the Commission Muhammad Goni Alkali said the NEDC was requested to construct the market after House of Representatives deliberated on the motion passed by member representing Soro, Ganjuwa at the assembly.
Alh Goni Alkali said the market which will accommodate more then two thousand five hundred cattles also has provision of shops, mosque, Restaurant, VIP convenience and banking facilities.
Speaking, the state Deputy Governor Senator Baba Tela who charged the beneficiaries to ensure proper utilization of the facility, expressed confidence that it will contribute to the economic development of the state.
Also commenting, the member representing Darazo, Ganjuwa in the House of Representatives Mansur Manu Soro said the facilitation of the project followed the realization of it need by his constituents.
