Insecurity: FG, Bauchi State Call the Contribution of NIPR

The Federal Government has called for stronger partnership with Nigerian Institute of Public Relations NIPR in providing a better platform towards securing National Peace and Stability.

The minister of Information and Cultural Alh. Lai Muhammed made the called in his address at Annual General Meeting of the NIPR in Bauchi.

Isiyaka Wunti reports that Public Relations practitioners from the thirty six states of the federal and the FCT as well as top government officials converged on the state for the AGM.

Delivering his address, the Minister of information and cultural Alh. Lai Mohammed said as professionals in image making and information management, it is high time for the NIPR to contribute its quoter in postering national peace and unity.

Alh. Lai Mohammed who attributed the spread of fake news and misleading information by unprofessional media practioners as some of the factors responsible for subjecting the country into the state of insecurity, expressed commitment of federal government to work with the institute in changing the narrative.

Declaring the event open, the state Governor Bala Mohammed who was represented by his Deputy Senator Baba Tela while commending the Organizing Committee for granting hosting right to the state, promised to support the institute in it quest toward the attainment of a better society.

He called for a sustained efforts in postering national dialogue and understanding noting that ensuring peace is a collective responsibility

The National President of the NIPR Muktar Zubairu Sirajo who assured to redefine the practice of public relations for the betterment of the country, said the AGM is an opportunity to discuss ways of regulating the practice.

The event saw presentation of honorary fellowship to Governor Bala Mohammed, the Emir of Bauchi Dr. Rilwanu Sulaimanu and induction of over forty new members.
