Muslim nations and individuals have been charged to contribute positively in conflict resolution, at both global and local levels, through the use of teachings of the Qur’an and Hadith of Prophet Muhammad to make the world be a better place to live.

A University Don, Professor Usman Aliyu El-nafaty gave the indication at the Annual Pre-Ramadan Lecture 1442 After Hijrah, organized by the Association of Muslim Professionals, AMP, held at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, ATBU, Bauchi.

While presenting a paper, titled Conflict Management and Resolution in the Globalized Age of Digital System: Islamic Perspective, Professor El-nafaty said unless the Muslims take the responsibility of resolving conflicts, the actualization of a vibrant society would not be achieved.

He identified misinformation, intolerance, prejudice, suspicion, ignorance, and selfishness, as major factors aggravating conflicts across the globe.

El-nafaty who served as Guest Speaker during the occasion called for dialogue to address the problem.

Also speaking, a member of the association, Engineer Ahmad Yusuf said conflict was insurmountable and emphasized the need for people to be patient to achieve a resolution.

The Chief Host and Vice Chancellor ATBU Bauchi, Professor Muhammadu Ahmad Abdulazeez, represented by the National Chairman AMP, Professor Bala Sulaiman Dalhat, urged Muslims to adhere strictly towards worshiping Allah especially in the month of Ramadan.

Earlier, the Bauchi State Amir of the AMP, Engineer Abdullahi Amawo said the aim of the lecture series was to remind Muslims of what was expected of them during the month of Ramadan for them to have acceptable ibadat.

Highlight of the occasion was the launching of a book sponsored by the association, titled Eclectic Approach to Arabic Grammar.
