Over ten thousand youths in Bauchi State are to be gainfully employed in a Mechanized Agricultural Project.
The Rice Processing Project is a collaboration between the state government and Indigenous firm, UMZA International Farms Limited.
Speaking while granting audience to management of the Firm in Government House Bauchi, Governor Bala Muhammad said his administration would leverage on the state’s agricultural potentials through active collaboration with relevant bodies.
Bala Muhammad who expressed concern that the state has not fully benefited from the Federal Government Anco-Borrowers programme, assured to introduce a robust Agricultural Policies to engage youth in useful ventures.
Earlier the Chairman of the UMZA International Farms Limited Muhammad Abubakar Maifata said over one hundred million dollars would be injected in actualizing the project.
While calling on the state government to complement the effort through provision of the logistics supports, Muhammad Maifata expressed confidence that the multi-billion naira project would be completed in short time.
