The National Universities Commission, NUC has granted approval to Federal University Kashere in Gombe State to run seven degree courses under the faculty of Mass Communication.
The courses included Journalism and Media studies, Public Relations, Broadcasting, Film and Multi Media studies, Information and Media studies, Advertising and Development Communication.
The new Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Umar Pate disclosed this when he received some members of the Bauchi State Chapter of the National Institute of Public Relations, NIPR led by its Chairman Alhaji Kabir Ali Kobi on a congratulatory visit in Kashere.
Professor Umar Pate said plans are also underway by the University to start degree programmes in Public Administration and International Relations.
The Vice Chancellor who described Bauchi State Chapter of the NIPR as the most proactive and resourceful in the country, thanked the Chairman and his members for identifying with him over his appointment.
He however assured that the University will support the Institute and urged members to maintain professionalism at all times.
Earlier, the Bauchi State Chairman of the NIPR, Alhaji Kabir Ali Kobi had told the VC that his team was in Kashere to rejoice with him over his well deserved appointment.
Kabir Ali Kobi described Professor Pate as a pillar to National Institute of Public Relations.
Aminu Abdullahi Gombi
